Griffin Designs
- Griffin Designs had a static HTML site which was in need of modernization and they asked us to “jazz them up”! They are a Chichester based company producing extremely effective and affordable stamps and vinyl lettering for a variety of uses and wanted a site that would be flexible, accessible and easy for them to maintain.
- We came up with a dynamic (client controlled) site comprising Flash animation, streaming video, galleries and form synchronization.
- You may notice that the Griffin in the top of the screen moves occasionally but not in an obtrusive manner. This is an example of how it is still possible to have animation without breaking accessibility guidelines and without being distracting.
- There is a simple demonstration how how easy the stamps are to use on one page and we recently added a 5 minute streaming video where Karen Griffin demonstrates how easy it is to apply their lettering to a car.
- The quality of the video was made possible by using the latest streaming and compression techniques and, as Griffin Designs host on our own Dedicated Server, there are no issues with streaming the content.
- The website comes in two versions: standard print and large print. We usually include a
“dyslexia-friendly” version as well but the cream background to the site makes this
unnecessary. We always include these options at no extra charge to the client.
- As with all of our sites, the layout is completely separated from the content so that you will be able to view this on a large screen, a small screen and a mobile phone with thepage resizing itself accordingly. Try adjusting the size of your browser and
seeing for yourself!
